Sun Compass & Sunrise/Sunset V3.3 (only for Palm-Pilot with OS Version 2.0)
If you've Palm-Pilot OS1.0, please use the older Version 2.4!
(It's to download from my Homepage)
What is new in Version 3.3 ?
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Have changed to normal Sunrise and Sunset Times.
That means if sun is a half degree under the horizont!
I made this on request of some other people!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
What was new in Version 3.2 ?
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
If you tap on the date-area or time-area at the bottom of the screen,
you can change the date and the time.
Each restart of sun-compass will reset the time to the current time, or you
simply select it again and tap on the OK-Button (without any select) !
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
What was new in Version 3.1 ?
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
If you tap on the date-area at the bottom of the screen, you can change
the date. Now, you can see all values (sunrise/set & sunangles) specific for
this new choosen date!
Each restart of sun-compass will reset the date to the current date!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
What was new in Version 3.0 ?
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
This Version is now working 100% accurate. Why?
Now,I've used a complex and voluminous formula. This formula calculates the
following variables:
1. Declination
2. Equation of Sun
3. Local Solar Time
4. Hour Angle
5. Altitude Angle
6. Azimuth Angle <--- I use this angle to calculate the NORTH-direction exact!
7. Time of Sunrise
8. Time of Sunset
These variables you can see, if you tap on the Sun-Info-Graphic-Button!
I have to calculate with functions like (sin,asin,cos,acos...), so this prog
needs the MATHLIB.PRC file! Don't forget to load it before you start Sun-Comp
Before you begin, you have to input the following values:
Longitude (Lo-Field), Latitude (La-Field), Timezone (Tz-Field),
Daylight-Saving Time (Graphic-Button). That's all.
Please, also read the instruction within the sun-compass programm via
the pulldown-menu !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Were is the NORTH ???
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
With this program you can simply determine the NORTH-DIRECTION.
You only need your Pilot and the sun!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Polar-Star:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Get the Pulldown-Menu and choose Polar-Star.
Here you'll see, how to get NORTH, by searching the "great dipper".
With the "great dipper" you can find the Polar-Star.
Note: Have you got the Polar-Star, then you've got NORTH!
The Polarstar you'll only see on the northern hemisphere!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
How to practice?
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Turn your Pilot in direction to the sun, but hold your Pilot horizontal.
Now, you can read the North-Direction on the screen !
The Pilot is calculating the North-Direction every minute automaticly.
